Update from DOCTRID IV International Conference

Society is moving towards a social model of intellectual disability, where the ability of people with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to contribute to society is being recognised, and the barriers which prevent their full participation in community, education and employment are being identified and removed. DOCTRID IV delegates were from a wide range of backgrounds, all with a passion for improving the lives of people with ID or ASD. The conference raised our expectations of what can be achieved and demonstrated the capacity of the DOCTRID network to impact on policy and service provision through excellence in research.
